Gas, radiant or induction, the symptoms below cover most of the cooktop calls we receive.

  • Gas Cooktop Burner Won’t Ignite

    Clicking without a flame, or no spark at all, usually involves a dirty or cracked igniter, a wet burner after cleaning, the spark module or a valve. Sealed-burner cooktops need their caps seated exactly.

  • Induction Cooktop Not Heating

    If an induction zone won’t heat, the cooktop may not detect the pan, a zone’s coil or control board may have failed, or the unit may be in a lock or demo mode. Flashing codes help us narrow it down.

  • Electric Cooktop Element Not Working

    Radiant elements, surface switches and the high-limit sensor under the glass are the usual culprits when a zone won’t heat or only heats on high.

  • Cooktop Glass Cracked

    A cracked glass top is a safety issue and should not be used. Replacement glass is available for many models and we quote it against the model number.

  • Cooktop Controls Not Responding

    Touch controls that don’t respond can be a locked control, moisture under the glass, a failed touch board or a control board fault.

  • Cooktop Flame Uneven or Yellow

    Uneven or yellow flames mean clogged ports, a misaligned cap or a regulator problem. We clean, align and test.

Downdraft cooktops with built-in ventilation and professional sealed-burner cooktops from Thermador, Viking and Wolf pack more components into a tight space. Our technicians are used to removing and refitting them without damaging the countertop.

Do you repair induction cooktops?

Yes. We service induction cooktops from Bosch, Thermador, GE, Samsung, LG, KitchenAid and other brands, including zones that won’t heat and error codes.

Can a cracked glass cooktop be replaced?

On many models yes. We confirm the model number, quote the glass and labour, and fit the new top.

My cooktop burners click but won’t light. What should I do?

Check that the burner caps are dry and seated correctly, especially after cleaning. If the burners still won’t light, the igniters, spark module or valves need testing.

Do you remove the cooktop from the counter to repair it?

Where the repair needs it, yes. We take care with the countertop and reseal the unit afterwards.

How much does cooktop repair cost?

It depends on the appliance, the problem and the parts required. Our $75 diagnostic fee covers the inspection and diagnosis and is applied toward the approved repair. You receive the estimate before any approved work starts.
